Wildflower sites
Connahs Quay: Library South
Site managed by Flintshire County Council and Groundwork
Connahs Quay, Flintshire
30m² / 50m²
Two perennial meadows were created on the urban green space behind Connahs Quay Library using wildflower turf. These wildflower areas were created in 2019 using wildflower turf ltd’s native enriched turf. During the summer months you should be able to spot some of the following species.
These sites are a partnership prjoect between Flintshire County Council and groundwork with areas being managed and maintained by groundwork.
This wildflower site is usually managed through one cut and collect a year between August and October. It is essential that cuttings are collected and removed. This reduces fertility and subsequently; the ‘vigour’ of the grasses year on year, which favours the continued establishment of perennial flowering species.
