Site description

Two perennial meadows were created on Windsor drive road verge at the front of Cornist park using wildflower turf. These wildflower areas were created in 2020 using wildflower turf ltd’s native enriched turf. During the summer months you should be able to spot some of the following species.

Species present

Meadow Cranesbill
(Geranium pratense)
Betony
(Stachys officinalis)
Bladder Campion
(Silene vulgaris)
Birds-foot Trefoil
(Lotus corniculatus)
Kidney Vetch
(Anthyllis vulneraria)
Cowslip
(Primula veris)

Management regime

These wildflower sites are usually managed through one cut and collect a year between August and October. It is essential that cuttings are collected and removed. This reduces fertility and subsequently; the ‘vigour’ of the grasses year on year, which favours the continued establishment of perennial flowering species.

Date last surveyed

10/07/2024

Notes: Continue with existing management
