Wildflower sites
Greenfield: Dock
Site managed by Flintshire County Council - Countryside
Greenfield, Flintshire
75m² / 65m²
Two perennial meadows were created on Greenfield Dock, on on the West side and one on the East side using wildflower turf. This wildflower area was created in 2021 using Lindum’s wildflower turf. During the summer months you should be able to spot some of the following species.
This wildflower site is usually managed through one cut and collect a year between August and October. It is essential that cuttings are collected and removed. This reduces fertility and subsequently; the ‘vigour’ of the grasses year on year, which favours the continued establishment of perennial flowering species.
Date last surveyed
Notes: Continue existing management. Site to be over-seeded in the Autumn to improve wildflower diversity.
