Site description

This perennial meadows was created on the urban green space near pandy pool in Oakenholt using seed in an enhanced peat free growing medium. This wildflower area was created in 2021 using wildflower turf ltd’s meadowscape pro. During the summer months you should be able to spot some of the following species.

Birds-foot Trefoil
(Lotus corniculatus)
Betony
(Stachys officinalis)
Lady's Bedstraw
(Galium verum)
Bladder Campion
(Silene vulgaris)
Ox-eye Daisy
(Leucanthemum vulgare)
Autumn Hawkbit
(Scorzoneroides autumnalis)

Management regime

This wildflower site is usually managed through one cut and collect a year between August and October. It is essential that cuttings are collected and removed. This reduces fertility and subsequently; the ‘vigour’ of the grasses year on year, which favours the continued establishment of perennial flowering species.
