Species/Habitat/Engagement

Meet the Amphibians is Heritage Lottery Funded Project which focuses on the five native species of amphibian found widely and which people in northeast Wales are more likely to encounter: great crested newt, common frog, common toad, smooth newt and palmate newt.

Crucial conservation benefits will be achieved through a combination of habitat improvement and wildlife surveying.

Engagement

The project will engage a wide range of people with the aim of increasing understanding and support for amphibians and nature, facilitating inclusion of groups facing barriers to involvement with heritage, and improving conditions for amphibians across our northeast Wales reserves.
